F.A.Q. about Advanced Direct Remailer. Plugins. |
|
|
25. What are plugins for?
The plug-ins are the user's message processing programs which can solve
practically any problem. The file with letter is sent to plug-in for its
processing, and plug-in can modify it soever or even delete it. See the
next question to get more info about ADR standard plug-ins. Even a simple
batch-file can be ADR plug-in - it's easy to create plug-in for ADR because
you can do that knowing no programming languages.

26. What are the "standard" ADR plugins?
ADR standard plug-ins perform the merger mailing with database (FromSQL
plug-in; letter-template macros are expanded with database information
extracted by message recipient email), the addition and deletion of technical
information in letter headline (XRay and AdKludge plug-ins), the private
information mailing (SendNum, RealName plug-ins). The plug-ins list is
supplemented regularly; refer to program help system for the latest news.

27. What programming languages can plugins be written
with?
At any language. A plug-in is a program (MS-DOS .COM, Win32 .EXE or special
.DLL) or command file (.BAT) which must process a file with a letter which
name is specified as the first parameter of command line. So you can create
ADR plug-ins even without any programming experience.

29. What are the other ways of using ADR in my programs?
ADR provides a programmer with two powerful opportunities - to organize
mail delivery without going deep into special aspects of socket programming,
and to create new message processing programs (plugins). Your program
can merely generate text files with messages and put them in MAIL\OUT
directory, so that Advanced Direct Remailer send them. Please, see article
"Information for programmers" of program help for details.
